About Us

The jgwhite Story tells how Jackie and Gary White started building wooden boxes.

If you read the jgwhite Story you know Gary is a retired C-130 pilot and Jackie is a Certified Nurse Midwife.  You also know Jackie and Gary have five children: Kevin, Tracie, Jared, Jamie, and Jeni. 

Our family continues to mature and evolve.  The kids are all on their own now.  Kevin is in the US Air Force working in Germany.  Tracie lives in Tulsa.  Jared is in the US Air Force flying F-16s in Korea.  Jamie finished nursing school at the University of Oklahoma and is working as a nurse and also working on her Masters in Nursing degree.  Jeni is in college at St Petersburg, studying criminal justice.

Jackie and Gary both grew up in Florida.  The US Air Force took them around the world for 20 years, but Jackie never got the sand out of her shoes.  In 2004, Jackie took a midwife job in St Petersburg to get back to the sand and beaches.  In 2005, she moved into a midwifery position in a doctors private practice in Ocala.

In Oklahoma, where we built jgwhite, we have a our house on 10 acres, the shop buildings, a store building downtown, and a large building with lots of wood in storage.  At this phase of our life, the thought of trying to move all this to Florida is overwhelming, so Gary continues to live part time in Oklahoma building boxes and other woodwork, and part time in Florida antiquing and taking care of his "hobby" orange grove.

We bought a small bungalow in St Petersburg, and someday, when Gary can't lift a board any more, and Jackie can't bend over to catch another baby, we will "retire" again to sunny St Petersburg, and enjoy the fine food, blue sky, and white beaches.
